{"id":1063,"date":"2020-06-19T22:53:05","date_gmt":"2020-06-19T22:53:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dennisrecipes.morgeneggs.com\/?p=1063"},"modified":"2020-06-19T22:53:05","modified_gmt":"2020-06-19T22:53:05","slug":"chocolate-cheesecake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dennisrecipes.morgeneggs.com\/index.php\/2020\/06\/19\/chocolate-cheesecake\/","title":{"rendered":"Chocolate Cheesecake"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Makes one 9-inch cheesecake<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Crust<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs<\/li><li>5 TBS melted butter<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Filling<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>3 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, at room temperature<\/li><li>1 cup granulated sugar<\/li><li>5 large eggs<\/li><li>2 ounces (2 squares) semisweet chocolate, melted<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Frosting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>6 ounces (6 squares) semisweet chocolate, melted<\/li><li>1\/2 cup sour cream<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To prepare crust, in a medium bowl, mix together chocolate crumbs and melted butter until well blended. Press into a 9-inch springform pan.<\/li><li>Preheat oven to 300.<\/li><li>To prepare filling, in a large bowl, beat together cream cheese, sugar, and eggs at a medium speed until smooth and fluffy. Spoon half of cream cheese mixture into crust.<\/li><li>Stir chocolate into remaining cream cheese mixture until well blended. Drizzle over batter in crust to make swirls.<\/li><li>Bake cheesecake for 50 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack. Cool completely.<\/li><li>Transfer cheesecake to a serving plate, cover with plastic wrap, and chill for 2 hours.<\/li><li>Uncover cheesecake; carefully remove sides of pan.<\/li><li>To prepare frosting, in a small bowl, mix together chocolate and sour cream. Spread over cheesecake. Chill briefly until frosting is set.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Baking Tips<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cheesecake can be made 2 to 3 days in advance and kept, covered with plastic wrap, in the refrigerator. Or, the cake can be frozen for up to 3 weeks.
