{"id":87,"date":"2017-09-14T19:35:43","date_gmt":"2017-09-14T19:35:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dennisrecipes.morgeneggs.com\/?p=87"},"modified":"2019-01-09T17:35:35","modified_gmt":"2019-01-09T17:35:35","slug":"kneaders-christmas-nut-bars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dennisrecipes.morgeneggs.com\/index.php\/2017\/09\/14\/kneaders-christmas-nut-bars\/","title":{"rendered":"Kneaders Christmas Nut Bars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prepared by Guest Chef Tami Vincent<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kneadersbakery.com\/\">www.kneadersbakery.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS FOR CRUST<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 \u00bd cups all purpose flour<br \/>\n\u00be cup powdered sugar<br \/>\n\u00bd scant teaspoon salt<br \/>\n1 cube or \u00bd cup unsalted butter<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Combine flour, salt and powdered sugar in a medium&nbsp; mixing bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Melt butter, then fold into dry mixture.&nbsp; Mix until it resembles course bread crumbs.<\/li>\n<li>Spray 9 by 13 pan with pan release.<\/li>\n<li>Press dough into pan<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until light golden brown.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS FOR FILLING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup light corn syrup<br \/>\n\u00bd cube or 4 Tablespoons of unsalted butter<br \/>\n1 8 oz package butterscotch chips<br \/>\n3 cups mixed salted nuts with no peanuts<br \/>\nDO NOT CHOP NUTS<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Spread nuts evenly over the baked crust.&nbsp; Make sure to get the nuts into the<br \/>\ncorners.<\/li>\n<li>Combine corn syrup and butter.&nbsp; Heat slowly until butter is melted<\/li>\n<li>In a separate container using the microwave, slowly melt the butterscotch chips.&nbsp; Heat 15 seconds at a time stirring after each heating.&nbsp; It is very easy to scorch the chips, be sure to melt them slowly.<\/li>\n<li>Combine syrup and butterscotch mixture.&nbsp; Stir with a wisk until thoroughly combined.5.&nbsp; Working quickly,&nbsp; pour butterscotch mixture evenly over the entire pan.&nbsp; Be sure to get mixture into the corners.<\/li>\n<li>Immediately, bake for an additional 5 minutes at 350 degrees.<\/li>\n<li>Cool and cut into small pieces.&nbsp;&nbsp; This is difficult to cut so use a sharp knife and take your time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prepared by Guest Chef Tami Vincent www.kneadersbakery.com INGREDIENTS FOR CRUST 1 \u00bd cups all purpose flour \u00be cup powdered sugar \u00bd scant teaspoon salt 1 cube or \u00bd cup unsalted butter Combine flour, salt and powdered sugar in a medium&nbsp; mixing bowl.
